Support in the Response to Covid-19: Our Donation of a Pathogen Inactivation Device

In support of the response against COVID-19 during the pandemic, we donated a Pathogen Inactivation Device (Intercept Cerrus Illuminator) to İnönü University Turgut Özal Medical Center Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (Malatya).
We made our donation with the support of the Turkish Philanthropy Fund (TPF) team and our friends living in the US who always have place for Turkey in their hearts.
This method enables collecting plasma from the blood of people who have overcome the infection, which is then transferred to people undergoing treatment for coronavirus.
When the pandemic is over, the device will continue to be used in bone marrow, stem cell, liver, kidney, small bowel and pancreas transplants to restore patients back to health. Doctors and nurses work tirelessly in the unit where corona patients were treated using the immune plasma therapy for the first time.
We would like to express our gratitude to all healthcare professionals headed by the Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kızılay and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Erkurt, and we hope the device will be of use for the public.
We will improve together!
